You already know more than you are living.

I created Beneath the Soil because I recognised the despair that can arise when structure has been neglected and life is simply lifeing. In those seasons, we deserve to be honoured for still being willing to surrender — and to care for all we hoped to become.

This is six weeks of practice for people ready to close the gap between what they know and how they live. Six weeks of practice to be less driven by fear, stop feeding old loops, strengthen self-trust, and move through challenging times with greater capacity, discernment and embodied choice.

It is rooted in the understanding that sacred work makes room for how we meet our ancestries — and our resistance — as a living practice of reclaimed humaning, alongside others willing to do the work.

Why now?

Ending this year having done this work is not indulgence. It is preparation.

We are living through a liminal time — collectively, not just individually. Old systems are fracturing.

Times of complexity and change ask us to slow down, sense, soften and let things surface — to meet these shifts with awe and reverence.

This is a moment for people willing to tend what lies beneath the strategy — the fears, the patterns, the inherited stories — so that what they build, lead and offer the world comes from somewhere true.

The condition

Fear. Transition. Overthinking. Loops. Self-abandonment. Grief. Uncertainty.

You may have already done a lot of work. Built the career. Led teams. Raised children. Navigated relationships. Survived things. Read the books, been to therapy, done the courses, prayed.

And still, something is asking for a different kind of attention.

Beneath the Soil is about integrating what you know — and learning to live it.

An irrigation system

There are seasons when pushing harder is not the answer.

We need irrigation. Something that keeps the roots alive, replenishes, and creates conditions for growth while the surface is changing.

Six weeks of rhythm, ritual, reflection, relationship and embodied practice.

Not to bypass what is difficult — but to give yourself something to grow from.

Reclaimed humaning

Being more available to the full experience of being human:

  • To grieve without becoming grief.
  • To feel fear without letting fear steer.
  • To need without shame.
  • To receive without proving.
  • To make mistakes without abandoning yourself.

Being human, consciously.

An intentional lifestyle

Disciplined, not functioning.

Functioning is discipline worn as survival — gritted teeth, keep going, prove it. It may look like structure from the outside, but it costs you from within.

The discipline we practise here is different: rhythm, ritual and attention. Enough shape that your energy stops leaking into old loops, so what remains can move with ease, elegance and embodied energy.

A different way of holding the life you already honour.

The journey

Six weeks, one landscape at a time

We move through an honesty arc — fear, self-abandonment, discernment, faith, resources, embodied choice, sovereignty and participation — held by ritual and relationship, with energy healing woven throughout.

  1. Week 0

    Welcome

    Opening

    Intention setting

Setting your intention before the teachings begin.

  2. Week 1

    Root & Reckoning

    Fire / Soul

    What is actually going on?

Opening the container. Naming fear honestly, without performance.

  3. Week 2

    Reclaiming What's Mine

    Earth / Heart

What is mine? What is not mine?

Discernment work. Separating inherited weight from chosen responsibility.

  4. Week 3

    Release & Resolve

    Air / Mind

What am I no longer worried about?

Letting overthinking loosen its grip. Choosing what deserves attention.

  5. Week 4

    Rivers Rising

    Water / Emotions

What have I been carrying that wants to move?

Grief, feeling, faith. Staying present without collapsing or bypassing.

  6. Week 5

    Resourced & Relational Radiance

    Space / Integration

What am I willing to participate in?

Recognising what you already have. Sovereignty within connection. Carrying the practice into how you lead and live.

    Three live gatherings

    The gift of gathering

Alongside the recordings, three live gatherings — on Saturday 10 October, Saturday 14 November and Saturday 12 December 2026. Each gathering is at 8pm UK time — offer attunement, questions and spotlight support — a chance to return, reflect and feel what has taken root, together.

What's inside

Self-paced recordings, held together by three live gatherings.

Recorded teachings

Five short audios for each week of the journey, averaging under five minutes and no more than 33 minutes per week. Move through them at your own pace.

Three live gatherings

Attunement, questions and spotlight support on whatever the teachings have raised. Not a re-teaching — a space to metabolise together.

Between — Dedicated space

A shared Telegram space for audio, written reflection, creative engagement and questions. Your participation helps shape the living field.

The shape of each teaching

Every audio arrives with five parts

1

Prayer

Reverent words, received and refined — language you can make your own.

2

Permission

What you are allowed to put down, stop performing or stop apologising for this week.

3

Process

A lived-experience share from me, so the work never arrives as theory.

4

Practice

One thing to weave into everyday life, so the teaching is lived, not just heard.

5

Pedagogy

A clear, grounded framing of the week's landscape.

What you'll cultivate

Radical honesty

Seeing what is actually happening, without rushing to fix, bypass, explain or judge it.

Self-trust

Hearing yourself, discerning and deciding without outsourcing your authority.

Emotional capacity

Staying present with fear, grief, uncertainty and complexity without collapsing or looping.

Pattern recognition

Noticing the moment an old pattern begins, before it takes over.

Completion

Knowing what still needs tending and what is already complete.

Resourcefulness

Recognising the resources you already have, and naming the ones you need.

Embodied choice

Moving from endless thinking towards sensing, discerning and acting.

Sovereignty in relationship

Staying yourself while staying connected.

Capacity to receive

Becoming available to support, love, guidance, rest and possibility.

Participation

No longer waiting to feel ready — taking part in your own becoming.

Sometimes one insight changes the timeline

You can spend years circling something. Then a question lands. A practice gives you language. Someone witnesses what you couldn't yet name — without judgement.

And suddenly — oh. You know.

Inspiration doesn't always add more information. Sometimes it collapses time, closing the distance between what you know and what you are ready to live.

What this serves in the world

This is not private work that stays private.

When you are less driven by fear, less looped in old patterns, and more able to trust and choose, you change how you lead, parent, organise, create and show up in every room you enter.

Embodied leadership isn't leadership performed with more confidence. It comes from someone who has told the truth to themselves first — leading from sovereignty rather than survival, discernment rather than reactivity, relationship rather than control.

We name what we are up against: late-stage capitalism, racism, sexism, ageism and the systems that profit from our exhaustion and self-abandonment. Backbone isn't only inner steadiness — it's what lets us stand for something, and remain human while doing it.

That is what six weeks Beneath the Soil can offer — not only to you, but through you, to everyone and everything you touch next.

Is this for you?

You might know it's time if…

This is not for those wanting another framework to collect, or those unwilling to be witnessed or to witness others.

We need you — sensing, speaking, sharing, showing up.

  • You keep saying “I know what I need to do” — but something keeps getting in the way.
  • You understand your patterns but still find yourself repeating them.
  • You are tired of overthinking and second-guessing what you already know.
  • You sense that fear has been making more decisions than you'd like to admit.
  • You want to stop abandoning yourself to keep connection.
  • You want to know what is truly yours to carry.
  • You want to trust yourself without becoming isolated.
  • You know you need rhythm, ritual and real accountability to stay engaged.
  • You want a peaceful, collaborative, rich life — and know it asks for your participation.
  • You are ready to experiment, make mistakes and be witnessed.

Why foundations help you evolve

Evolution is built on foundations you can return to, as a responsible co-creator.

Before you join, ask yourself honestly

  1. 1. Am I willing to do the work?
  2. 2. Am I willing to participate, rather than consume?

If the answer is yes — even tentatively — welcome.

Words from those who returned

“I came in exhausted and looking for another system. What I found was permission to stop performing. By week three I was sleeping again.”
Amina · Founder, in transition
“The audios are short, but they stayed with me all week. It felt like someone walking beside me.”
Rachel · Artist and mother
“I have done a lot of inner work. This was the first thing that met the part of me that was quietly grieving.”
Danielle · Senior Manager, NGO

The foundation beneath everything I offer

Decolonial and spiritual, at the same time.

African-rooted, embodied and relational ways of knowing are the method. This is decades of leadership, governance and systems experience meeting ancestral practice. You don't have to choose between boardroom and circle, strategy and soul.

What you'll find is a council — fellow practitioners, part of a lineage. Honest sharing, attunement, real practices and others walking alongside you.

But none of it is meant to stay exactly as I give it. Play with it. Work it in. Build your own. The purpose is for you to leave with your own sovereign, evolving foundations. Not mine — yours.

About Yolanda · Gentle Guide

Soil and soul are my foundations.

I am the daughter of a South Sudanese Bari (Nile) refugee and a Tanzanian Chagga (Kilimanjaro) agriculturalist. For years I built a life in a system that neglected my humanity. What returned me was support, ritual and a willingness to listen. Beneath the Soil is the foundation that grew from that returning.

I am an initiated Medicine Woman, trained in the Chagga Kilimanjaro tradition, and a trauma-informed healing practitioner. For more than 20 years I have worked with the United Nations, international NGOs and civil society, from humanitarian response in the Great Lakes region and child rights advocacy in Geneva to community work with refugee and minority ethnic women in the UK.

I weave East African ritual, somatics and land-based embodiment with Ubuntu philosophy, non-violent communication and decolonial thinking. My work bridges worlds: walking by your side as you decolonise your mind and deepen your practices, as kin beholden to Earth.

Our ancestries are part of our resistance.
